Colours 2018
“Colours”
2018, a program held with respect to the Music and Reconciliation subject was
held on the 21st of December at the Lionel Edirisinghe Rostrum. Rev.
Madampagama Assaji Anunayaka Thero, Rev. Prof. Pallekande Rathanasara Anunayaka
Thero, Rev. Madani Maulawi, Bishop of the Methodist Church Rev. , Dr. Praneeth Abhayasundara, Prof. Asoka De
Soysa, Mrs. Ganga Rajinee Dissanayaka, Mr. Nishshanka Diddeniya and other
respected individuals participated to this event and expressed their views on
the event and the subject matter. An important fact is that the first year
students of the Faculty of Music and the second year, third year and final year
students of the Department of Musicology as well as students from other
departments and faculties participated and helped in this program. Around 150
students participated in a variety of items that displayed the colors of
humanity. “Colours” 2018, a concept of the Head of the Department of
Musicology, Mrs. Iranga Weerakkody was carried out with the help of temporary
lecturers Pavara Navamina, Samitha Rukmal, Rachika De Silva, Sachintha
Maduranga and visiting lecturers, Pasindu Chamara, Thanuja Rukshini, Harsha
Gamage, Palitha Sri Geeganaarachchige, Isuru Kondasignhe and Prasad Rukshan,
along with the students of the Department of Musicology. A special thanking is
given to the Vice Chancellor, Senior Prof. Sarath Chandrajeewa, Dean of the
Faculty of Music, Mr. Chiltas Dayawansha, the Bursar, Mr. Wanninayaka, the
Registrar Mr. B.M. Dayawansha and all other administrative staff. A few
