Seminar and
Discussion on “The Sitar and its Organology, and Performing a Raga from the
Perspective of Musicology”
With accordance to the 2018 year plan of the Department of
Musicology, a seminar on “The Sitar and its Organology, and Performing a Raga
from the Perspective of Musicology” was held on the 26th of September 2018 at
the Dr. Ranjan Abeysinghe Gamut from 1:00 p.m. onwards till 4.00 pm. Visiting
lecturer of the Department of Musicology, Mr. Harsha Bandara Gamage of the
University of the Visual and Performing Arts arrived as the guest lecturer for
this informative event. Students of the second, third, and final year of the
Department of Musicology, as well as lecturers, participated in this very
